These simple vision tests can help you identify potential vision problems. While they can't replace a professional eye examination, they can indicate if you might need to see an ophthalmologist.

Stand about 10 feet (3 meters) from the screen. Cover one eye and read the letters from top to bottom. Then repeat with the other eye.
Cover one eye and look at the center of the lines. Do any of the lines appear darker, bolder, or more blurred than the others? Repeat with the other eye.
Cover one eye and look at the dot in the center of the grid. Are all the lines straight? Are any of the squares distorted or missing? Repeat with the other eye.
Look at each circle and identify the number you see. If you cannot see any number, note that as well. This test helps detect color blindness.
